Final Non-Potable Winterization Update
The Metro District has confirmed the winterization schedule for the Non-Potable Water system. Common areas will be winterized on October 23rd and 24th. Air will be provided to homeowners on October 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Technicians from Mill Brothers will be onsite and driving through the community to assist homeowners with any questions. Please feel free to stop them if you need assistance.
It is essential that all residential ball valves remain in the open position prior to and during the winterization process. They should stay they should be closed as soon as the blow out is completed.
To prevent any water from freezing in the meters, all homeowners' systems will be blown out simultaneously with the Metro District system. You will need to run through the zones on your irrigation system while the air is running to allow the air to pass through your entire system.
If you do not plan to use the District-provided air, you will need to have your irrigation system blown out after Saturday by your own service provider. Additionally, if you do not plan to be home during the District’s scheduled blowout, you must hire a landscaper or other qualified professional to complete the winterization of your system.
After the blowout has been completed, homeowners should close their ball valves. Following this, you may verify your system’s integrity by using the blow-out port located within your irrigation box. Homeowners are responsible to ensure their system is fully blown out.
